Google Sheets provides an easy way to create a drop-down list for your spreadsheet. This allows you to quickly select from a list of options, rather than typing in the data manually. In this blog, we’ll walk you through the steps to create a drop-down list in Google Sheets.

  1. Open the Google Sheet you wish to add the drop down to.
  1. Select the cell or group of cells in which you want the drop down list to appear.
  1. Click on the “Data” tab at the top of the screen.
  1. Click “Data Validation” from the drop-down menu.
  1. Under the “Criteria” section, select the “List from a Range” option.
  1. In the “Range” field, enter the cell range that holds the list of items you want to appear in the drop down menu.
  1. Click “Save” to apply the data validation.
  1. Click outside of the cell to save the changes and view the drop down menu.
